F.I. Foundation: Food has Superpowers!
800 St. Charles Rd.
Glen Ellyn, IL
In this fun, hands-on 4-week course, kids will discover how the foods they eat help their bodies grow, think, move, play, and stay strong. Through games, experiments, stories, and interactive challenges, kids become Food Detectives, building practical food intelligence and learning to look at what they eat in a whole new way.
Each week builds on the last:
Week 1: Food Is Fuel
Kids learn the basics of nutrition, why their bodies need different kinds of food, and how food gives them the fuel they need every day.
Week 2: Become a Food Detective
Kids investigate everyday foods, explore nutrition labels and ingredients, and learn simple skills for understanding what's really in their food.
Week 3: Food Bricks + Eat the Rainbow
Kids discover how nutrients act as building blocks for the body and explore how colorful foods help support their brain, bones, heart, eyes, digestion, immunity, energy, and muscles.
Week 4: Connect the Dots
Kids put it all together, exploring what happens when the body doesn't get the fuel it needs and how food can influence the way they feel, think, move, grow, and perform.
To wrap up each class, kids will put their new Food Intelligence to work in the F.I. for Kids Grocery Store, where they'll shop, make choices, and check out their selections using a real working scanner!
Included with registration: Each participant will receive a complimentary What's in My Food? board book and an F.I. Guy bendable plush toy to continue the learning at home.
